Fun and Easy Hot Wheels Car Wash
My boys love their cars and water… Combining both of those has made one of the easiest activities I have put together; a car wash. This is an awesome activity to keep them occupied for a few moments, or to clean up after an activity that gets their cars dirty like Tire Tracks Painting, playing outside in the mud, or even just because they want to clean them.
To get this activity started all you need is toy cars that can be submerged in water (we love our Color Shifter Hot Wheels and monster trucks), soap, water, a sink, and a place to let them dry. Let’s get playing:

This activity is easy to set up within 10 minutes. Having a kids car wash is a fun way to entertain the kids with minimal effort. I like to set up this activity after we’ve had a messy activity like Tire Tracks Painting or after the boys bring their hot wheels to the park.
To get this activity set up all you have to do is fill the sink or a bin that can hold water with lukewarm water and some dish soap. I like to set up the other side of the sink (or another bin) with clean cold water as a rinse. Will both sinks turn into a bubbly mess? Yes. Will your kids have a blast cleaning their cars? Also yes.
Once the sinks are filled you can set up your helper tower or just a stool that your kiddos can reach the sink. We love our helper tower, it fits both of our boys safely and comfortably. Another thing I like to give the kid during this activity is paint brushes. They love to take the bubbles, paint the cars with the bubbles, and then rinse and repeat.
My kids can play in water for an hour and not get bored! Always supervise children during water activities. My boys have loved this activity since they were 2 and 3 (they are 5 and 6 now). This is a great sensory activity for kids while helping get their toys cleaned. What more could you ask for in an activity?
